More Blue Flag Beaches in the Dominican Republic

In 2003 Dominicus Beach, in Bayahibe, was the first beach to receive Blue Flag certification in the Western Hemisphere.
The certification is issued to beaches that have introduced environmentally friendly planning and sustainable measures.
The program is supported by the United Nations Environment Program and the World Tourism Organization (WTO).
