Moto Taxis presented with safety kits

After participating in several days of workshops and lectures, about 200 motoconchistas were presented with helmets and hi-viz vests during a ceremony held in City hall in Puerto Plata.
These courses, workshops and lectures are given at national level by the Technical Office of Land Transport (OTTT) and the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET), among other institutions.

The presentation was made by Director of Training for OTTT Santo Domingo, Mr. Francisco Puello.
Puello, thanked the governor of Puerto Plata, Eridania Llibre Jimenez, for her support of the OTTT in undertaking such training and accident prevention for motoconchos.
He noted that  "we have fulfilled the desire of President Leonel Fernandez, who instructed us in the OTTT for us to offer these courses to motorists Puerto Plata."
He also highlighted the work and efforts of the Director of the OTTT, Angel Segura Soto, for organising the national census of motoconchos in order to regularize and modernize the transport system in the Dominican Republic .
