New Customs (Aduana) clearing system at Puerto Plata

The new Director of Customs at Puerto Plata port, Hctor Bienvenido Ortiz, announced the implementation of a system of verification and valuation called Afornificado which is designed to expedite the process of customs clearance of imported goods.
Ortiz, who was recently appointed by the Director General of Customs, Rafael Camilo, to replace William Medina, who was transferred to Santo Domingo, made the announcement during a recent courtesy visit to Governor Eridania Llibre.
Ortiz said Director General of Customs has instructed the implementation of various projects which will contribute to modernization and a more transparent management process for the swifter delivery of imported goods.
"We believe we can move forward on this path, because we have the necessary human resources, dynamic and young, to create a modern and efficient Customs control to provide better daily service to users, he said.
He added his praise for all the workers involved in the clearing process, expressing the belief that with everyones support, revenues could be increased.
Hector Bienvenido Ortiz, was accompanied by Administrative Assistant, Freddy Gutierrez.on his visit to the Governor.
