NJC launches today choice of judges comprising high courts

The judges comprising the high courts will begin to be chosen Tuesday by the National Judiciary Council (NJC), while the institutional foundation and justice (Finjus) requested to take into account the share to women, to form these bodies.

The first session will be carried out during a meeting that the Agency will be in the Hall of the Council of Government of the National Palace, from five in the afternoon.

Will it be deliberations to choose the members of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Constitutional Court and Supreme Electoral.

During the evaluation process were 20 session which began on August 11 and in total made 100 hours of work.

Throughout the process were examined 272 candidates, 281 called originally.

Women who were assessed by the Council of the judiciary include Aura Celeste Fernandez, Josefina Abreu Yarul, Miriam Germán Brito, Isabel Díaz, Katia Miguelina Jimenez Martinez, Carmen Imbert Brugal and Mabel Feliz, among others.

He argued that there were women of one form or another, for his talent, to ensure that share that establishes the Constitution.

"There is so much talent in women were subjected in such assessments that will be now difficult for the Council to be able to choose, because there were many that passed the tests", argued the lawyer.

Said that the Council of the judiciary, after evaluating publicly to all candidates, is the duty of choosing the best. He said that the legitimacy of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Constitutional Court and the Superior Electoral Tribunal will depend on the quality, u000acapacity and conditions to meet its members.
