Vice President Rafael Alburquerque, who led the negotiations with the doctors, and now with the Health Sector Coordinator, explained that dentists, nurses, bioanalysts, pharmacists and psychologists will receive the same salary increase of 15 percent this year, an additional 10 percent next January and the remaining 5 per cent via the supplementary budget in August 2011.
Alburquerque said that the deal will be confirmed with the signature of all parties in one week at the National Palace . He added that the pay rise is linked to an improvement in service in hospitals.
The delegation of the Health Sector Coordinator which met the government on Thursday was led by Adolfo Rodriguez. The meeting was also attended by Public Health Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez.
