The entity comprises the Dominican Association of Graduate Nurses (ADEG), the Dominican Pharmaceutical Association (AFD), the Dominican Dental Association (ODA), the National Union of Workers of Nursing (SINATRAE), the Dominican College of bioanalysts (CODOBIO) Dominican College of Psychology (CODOPSI) and the National Union of Workers and Health Technicians (SINATESA).
The president of the ADEG, Dulce Emilia Perez, who served as spokesman, said Monday that the strike is a warning that without dialog they will take stronger measures.
"On March 18 we held a first meeting with the Government and they told us that in a week they gave us answers and we are still waiting," said Perez.
They accused the government commission led by Vice President Rafael Alburquerque, the Ministers of Finance, Vicente Bengoa and Public Health, Bautista Rojas Gomez, of trying to force other health unions to accept what they agreed upon with the CMD, with which he has now held four meetings.
The negotiating committee and the CMD have scheduled another meeting for next Wednesday and is expected they will reach a final agreement.
Coonasesa leaders gave their statements in a press conference held on the premises of the National Council of Trade Union Unity (CNUS)
