Obama reiterates commitment to women's reproductive rights

Viewed 12 times.The President of United States, Barack Obama, yesterday reiterated its commitment to the defence of the reproductive rights of women, in the framework of the 39 anniversary of the ruling of the Supreme Court that legalized abortion in this country.
To commemorate the "39 anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this decision of the Supreme Court not only protects health and reproductive freedom for women but it also claims one greater principle: that Government should not interfere in private family matters", said Obama said in a statement issued by the White House.
"Remain committed to the protection of the right of women to choose (abortion) and this fundamental constitutional law", he added.
To recognize that the right to abortion in the United States.UU. is "a sensitive and often divide matter", Obama stressed that, regardless of the positions on the subject, "we must remain United in our determination to prevent unwanted pregnancies, support to" u000a"mothers and pregnant women, to encourage healthy relationships and to promote".
"To mark this historic anniversary, also should continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms and opportunities than our children to achieve their dreams", he pointed out Obama, father of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.
