ONDA destroys pirated DVD’s and CD’s

The director of ONDA, Marino Feliz Terrero, said the materials were seized in various raids nationwide, which also seized electronic equipment like computers, cookers, televisions, stereos, invertors, hairdryers, irons, labels and label manufacturing machines.
He said of the 79 people arrested during the operation, 25 of them have been officially charged.
Feliz Terrero said that while piracy has a social component, because some people do so to support their families or pay for school, selling such materials in the country illegally cannot be allowed to continue.
"Then the country will run out creators of works protected by intellectual property rights," he said.
Fittingly, the destruction of the illegally reproduced materials was held in the parking area of the Plaza de la Cultura (Plaza of Culture).
