Open Latin American bicentennial

Viewed 22 times.The cardinal Nicolás de Jesús López Rodríguez made the opening yesterday in the Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome, from the ceremony opening the liturgy on the occasion of the bicentenary of the independence of Latin America, which was chaired by Pope Benedict XVI.
At the ceremony, Cardinal López Rodríguez, Archbishop Metropolitan of Santo Domingo, Primate of America, made the following invocation to the Virgin Mary with the prayer to our Lady of Guadalupe: Virgin Mary of Guadalupe, mother of the true God for whom lives.

Pope Announces trip to CUBA and Mexico (AFP)
Benedict XVI confirmed Monday that will travel to Mexico and Cuba before u000athe Passover of 2012, during a mass in the Basilica of St. Peter by the bicentenary of the independence of Latin American countries, which recalled the "emerging role" of Latin America.
