Viewed 14 times.Responsible for the rescue efforts of the persons missing after the sinking of the Cruiser Costa Concordia on January 13 in waters off the Italian island of Giglio have decided to permanently suspend the activities of search in the submerged part of the boat.
As reported yesterday in a statement the Italian Civil protection, technical director responsible for managing the tasks of rescue "has made the decision to discontinue the search in the submerged part of the ship".
The decision has been adopted in accordance with those responsible for the different bodies that have worked in the search and rescue tasks and who have agreed that there are no operational security conditions necessary to move forward with these activities, said protection Civil.
Such a decision will be now transmitted to the Committee set up to deal with the emergency, which will be responsible for final action thereon.
The u000asearch for the missing half will continue, however, the part of the ship which remains out of the water, as well as the 18 square kilometers of sea delimited so far, in order to check "If the identified objectives may correspond to the bodies of those still unaccounted".
The number of fatal victims of the sinking of the Cruiser Costa Concordia rises, so far, 17, once on Saturday divers found the body of the Peruvian Erika Soria Molina, 26, who worked as a waitress in the cruise.
