PN promises to eradicate speed racing

The Chief of police, José Armando Polanco Gómez, said yesterday that they are working with the director-general system of roads at the metropolitan authority of transport (Amet), Rafael Tejeda Baldera, and police authorities of San Cristóbal, to improve the plan "insurance broker" to eradicate racing motorcycles in that area.

The major general Polanco Gomez explained that the police has sent resources that are focused for that plan and ensure what you do need to continue dealing with this problem.

Police chief regretted the death of Leonardo Méndez Jiménez (Piki), 21-year-old shot and killed several shot dead by a group who pursued him after losing 50,000 pesos in a race of motorcycles that were made in the u000aHighway 6 November. He said that they persecute those responsible for the fact.

After the event, police officers conducted several operations and arrested five people connected with these races, and seized 30 motorcycles.

Police chief offered these statements to make delivery to the director of the preventive police, Gerónimo Brown Pérez, of two vans equipped with firearms and bulletproof vests, to help improve surveillance on the Duarte highway.

El mayor general Polanco Gómez said that two of the vehicles will have allocated five police officers for service from La Vega to Bonao, and the other will go to the municipality of Maimon for work from Cotuí until the Duarte highway.
