Police found 16 bodies burned in Northwest Mexico

La Procuraduría de Sinaloa reported that 12 bodies were in a van and four more in another in two different points in the State capital, Culiacán.
The State Attorney, Marco Antonio Higuera, initially said that one of the vans had nine bodies, although his Office was reported shortly after that the correct number was 12. The official noted that police received a first report that a truck caught fire Wednesday morning and minutes later there was another call about a vehicle in flames.
The Attorney said that 16 people, still unidentified, had rounds of gun fire.
Sinaloa has been one of the States affected by an increase in violence attributed to organized crime since the 2008 split drug cartel of u000aSinaloa and formed the poster of the brothers Beltran Leyva.
