Details were finalized and published last night at the Central Electoral Board (JCE).
The Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), with seven partner organizations, presented their documentation at 8:19 in the evening and the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) held out to almost the midnight deadline to release details of their 13 partners.
The alliance papers were received by Ramn Hylario Espieira, Secretary General of the JCE.
The PRD signed electoral pacts with the Alternative Democratic Movement Party (MODA), National and Civil Veterans (PNVC), Civic Renewal (PCR), Dominican Humanist (PHD), Social Democratic Alliance (SDA), Democratic Institutional (PDI), and Unity and Change (MIUCA) which is a coalition of the revolutionary left groups including the Rebel Movement (MR), Popular Dominican Movement (MPD) and the Communist Labor Party (PCT).
The PLD will ally with the Social Christian Reform Party (PRSC), Alliance for Democracy (PAD) Institutional Social Democratic Block (BIS), Dominican Workers (PTD) National Unity (PUN), Democratic Peoples Party (PDP), Popular Christian (PPC), National Progressive Force (FNP), Liberal Action (PAL), National Renaissance (PRN), Dominican Republic Liberal (PLRD) Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Quisqueyano Christian Democratic (PQDC).
Five minutes from the closing date of partnership registration, the FNP came to the JCE Secretary to wait for representatives of PLD and PRSC along with delegates forming the alliance known as the Progressive Block.
Cesar Pina, PLD delegate to the JCE who arrived at 10:40 at the headquarters of the election tribunal said the delay was due to technical glitches in the process of transmitting data to the JCE. Privately, sources have suggested that there were last minute delays in negotiations with the FNP and PRSC.
