Pope Benedict XVI signed Monday decrees that approved miracles attributed to the intercession of seven persons, which exceeded the last obstacle that precedes the canonization of the same.
In addition, the Pope signed the decrees that recognize the death as martyrs of 65 Catholic during the Spanish Civil war with a view to beatificar them, the penultimate step towards his possible sanctification. Mother Mariana cared for lepers in the peninsula of Molokai, Hawaii, sick at the end of 1880, shortly after the death of Father Damien, canonized in 2009.
