Pope condemns secularism in America

The Pontiff spoke to American Bishops and warned them that they are being attempts to erode freedom religious.
Benedict XVI was not explicit, but the bishops have complained that danger in view of the growing acceptance of gay marriage, and attempts to marginalize what nation faith. The American Bishops Conference recently formed a Committee to protect freedom of religion and it has hired lawyers and a lobbyist.
The Pope said that many of the bishops have complained about by attempts to deny conscientious objection to the cooperation with "intrinsically evil practices".
Leaders American churchmen have lobbied against a provision of the health programme of President Barack Obama that orders to the u000aprivate insurers to pay for contraception. The Obama Government has not yet taken a decision on such a policy. The Bishops also oppose the legalization of marriages homosexuals.
