Pope encourages order

The Legionnaires ordered 49 new priests this week in Rome, which is why many members of the order and their families attended a hearing general of the Pope in the Vatican.
In statements made at the end of the audience, Benedict XVI said he was praying that God help the new priests of the order "so that they can carry out its mission with joy and faithfulness".
Pope Benedict XVI appointed last year to a cardinal to take over the command after that the legionaries admitted that its founder, late Mexican father Marcial Maciel, had three children and sexually abused several seminarians.
A subsequent investigation by the Vatican ruled that Maciel created a power system u000abased on the silence and obedience to hide his double life.
