PRD raises appeal of opposition against Mariano Germán and Luciano Pichardo for high courts

The Commission of Justice of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) presented today before the Secretary of the National Judiciary Council (NJC) an instance of challenge against the nominations of Dr. Mariano Germán and Judge Rafael Luciano Pichardo, aspiring to join the Supreme Court of Justice and the Court Superior Electoral, respectively.

Lawyer Alberto Tavares, President of the Commission, came accompanied by dozens of perredeístas to the building of the Supreme works where the Secretary of the NJC, to deposit their instance whereby aims that they are not designated these jurists in any of the high courts because "they respond to the political interests of the LDP".

The instance also signed by Arnulf pineapple, elected Vice-President of the Bar Association, petitioned the NJC Regulation number 2-11 for the evaluation of the judges of the SCJ is modified and expanded on the grounds that it does not regulate that u000aprocess, defined as the case of complex.
