Presidents narrow ties

Viewed 13 times.The Haitian President, Michel Martelly, yesterday met his first official visit to Panama, in order to strengthen bilateral political and economic ties and promote his country as a destination for investment, especially in the area of construction.
Martelly met with Panamanian colleague, Ricardo Martinelli, "to talk about cooperation and commercial relations between the two countries", said the Haitian leader to journalists after the meeting held at the headquarters of the Executive.
The Haitian Government wishes to take advantage of the Panamanian experience in various fields, primarily in the field of construction, and also offer to the Caribbean country, the poorest in the continent, as an attractive destination for investors.
The Haiti of the past "no longer exists" and the current "is one full of opportunities and with many things to build," said the ruler.
Haiti was devastated by an earthquake of magnitude 7 in u000athe open Richter scale in January 2010 which caused more than 300,000 dead.
