Protesters stage roadblock after being without power for a week

The community has been without electricity for a week after a transformer burned out and anger against Edenorte has now boiled over into dramatic action.
The road was blocked with burning tires and logs as protesters hurled debris and bottles into the road to prevent vehicles passing through.
The National Police came to scene to restore order and clear the road but were unable to make any arrests as the organizers fled into the countryside.
Residents have said that protests will continue until Edenorte repair the transformer and restore power to the community.
