The damage is mostly in shopping areas; Camino Real, Jos Eugenio Kunhardt, 12 de Junio, Beller, and others.
Shops and offices have been removing documents, goods and equipment damaged by mud and water which rose several feet.
The tourist area that runs from the Avenue Francisco Alberto Caamao De to Plaza Independencia was also affected and traders dealing in tourist mementoes and craft work have lost a lot of stock.
There was also damage at some official buildings, the local offices of the Director General of Customs, Dominican Port Authority, Agricultural Bank, the Municipal Police and Metropolitan Transit Authority (AMET).
The clean up operation is continuing with the help of equipment from the Public Works department.
