A judge of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) yesterday urged the House of the institution to decide definitively the creation of a management of computing, on the grounds that will beat the deadline granted to political parties to submit suggestions and already started the critical path towards elections of May 20.

Cesar Francisco Felix Felix addressed a communication to the President of the JCE, Roberto Rosario, which provides that the fact that the institution has not decided yet on this impasse, has allowed private individuals seeking to replace the will and authority of the Agency, erecting above democratic institutions.

Felix Felix, citing United States, Raul Yzaguirre, Ambassador said that "already the JCE is a mature institution, with full capacity and competence to resolve any kind of difference that arises during the election process".

In its communication, recalls u000aRosario that article 6 of the Electoral Law number 275-97 States that among the attributions of the JCE are the appoint all officials and employees of the institution and its dependencies; fix them their pay, accept or reject their resignations and remove them, except the heads of elections, computations, Civil Registry and the certificate of identity and Electoral, who will be in charge of voter registration, which shall be appointed after consultation with the political parties.

Yesterday also the Secretary general of the Party of the liberation Dominican (PLD), Reinaldo wall Pérez, referred to the issue, and felt that sooner rather than later there will be an understanding with the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD).

OAS sends delegation
A delegation from the Organization of American States (OAS) visited the country for a lifting of the audit information that will make the regional body to the u000aCenter of computations and to the Central Electoral Board Electoral Padron.

According to sources, the members of the OAS, who came to the country last Sunday and they left on Monday, met with two technicians of the JCE, including the director of the Centre of computations Franklin Frias, as well as two commissions of parties Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD), led by César Cedeño, and of Dominican Liberation (LDP), headed by Franklin Almeyda.

The past 18 January the President of the JCE, Roberto Rosario, signed in Washington a Convention with the Secretary general of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza, so that international agency audit the computer center and the Electoral Padron to be used in the election guidelines for next May 20, what has been regarded as important for the transparency of that process.
