RD maintains expectations HIV prevention

Viewed 24 times.Dominican Republic kept their expectations to reach the second phase of the donation of the Global Fund, in the framework of the programme "strengthening the response to the epidemic of the HIV / AIDS (2009-2015), despite the crisis of funding which threatens the disease prevention and control programmes.
This was stated by Dr. Rafael Isa Isa, director of the dermatological Institute and skin surgery (IDCP), entity that promotes the strengthening of the response to HIV / AIDS programme in the country in partnership with 34 organizations of civil society.
He stressed that the programme has shown before the Global Fund to a satisfactory performance during the first two years of the operation of the donation, merit rating A1, considered the highest awarded by that agency of funding in the last six months audited.
Said that access to these funds is subject to the performance of the first phase of the donation, which u000aends 31 May 2012, and to the availability of financing by the Global Fund.
In this regard noted that civil society overwhelming evidence is the quality of the investments coming from this donation.
As an example of good practice in carrying out the doctor Isa Isa cited the strategic alliance with the Youth Ministry, under the leadership of father Luis Rosario.
He said that such an alliance committed efforts of the Youth Ministry, in a project of prevention of HIV and AIDS in parish communities based on values Christians.
