As well as taking firm steps to control drink driving, he warned that AMET officers would be issuing penalties for drivers talking on the phone whilst driving and failing to wear seat belts
"We want people to respect the law, so that they preserve their lives, because there is a large amount of people that may be useful to society, being killed in traffic accidents," he said.
AMET Director spoke during a visit to the National District prosecutor, Alejandro Moscoso Segarra, to coordinate the implementation of sanctions against traffic law violations, including; jumping red lights, failing to display the "placa" and driving without insurance.
