Rincon Bay: one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches

If one was to discuss the beautiful bays and spectacular beaches of the Caribbean it would be impossible not to mention “Rincon Bay,” situated in the province of Samaná in the country’s northeast region. The two kilometer long beach, blessed with the finest white sand and lush coconut palms, is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean.

The beach is surrounded by “Cape Cabron,” a pristine national park, visited by only a few.

The beach sits before a spectacular bay, bathed by the east winds. It is the perfect beach for the entire family, because of its clear and tranquil waters. There are typical food stands on the beach where visitors can enjoy simple meals, such as fish and other fresh seafood.

At the northern end of the beach visitors will run into a small stream – “Caño Frio” – considered, by far, to be one of the most impressive and most beautiful sections of the area.

The mouth of the stream is a truly magical place where the fresh waters of the stream run into the ocean.

Visitors can hop on some of the small boats that are available for a short ride upstream, where they will enjoy the lush tropical forest and surroundings.

Mangrove trees and colorful tropical vegetation lead the way upstream. If the weather gets too hot, visitors can always jump into the cool stream waters.

Getting to “Rincon Bay” requires some effort, since it is situated at the very tip of the Samaná Peninsula. The best way to get there is in a 4 x 4 vehicle, since the roads are not always in the best condition. Getting to the beach is not difficult, and no special guides are needed. All the visitor will need is a map and the desire to visit one of the most beautiful spots in the Caribbean. Directions are easy: Once in Samaná visitors must take the road that leads to “Las Galeras.”
