The Executive pointed out that the campaign is being reenfocada to highlight civic values such as respect and responsibility, in order to ensure that citizens feel identified with the efforts made and understood that the reduction of traffic accidents depends on the actions of each u000aperson, including drivers and pedestrians.
Saba reported that in 2009 in the country there were 1,872 deaths from traffic accidents and that number increased to 2,126 in 2010, which represents an average of six deaths per day, in addition to the injured individuals who subsequently die due to injuries caused by the accident.
He noted that the World Health Organization (who) statistics show that approximately 1,300 million people die every year for that reason and more than 50 million are affected.
He claimed only Argentina and Mexico exceed the number of road accidents that occur in Dominican Republic, in relation to the number of inhabitants.
Causes

The Vice-Chairman of Seguros BanReservas considered that to deal with the problem effectively it is necessary to facilitate integration between the regulatory institutions of the transport and the private sector to undertake actions joint.
