The spokesman for the National Drugs Control (DNCD) in the north, Abel Rojas, said the Frenchman Acka Soner and his wife, Dorka Martinez were sending drugs overseas using double bottomed suitcases..
Rojas said they also seized from the couple an M-16 rifle with 43 cartridges, a van and 300,000 pesos (8,500 dollars).
They also found two empty suitcases with false bottoms, a sealing machine for plastic bags and packing tape.
The spokesman said the network was sending drugs to France and other European countries and that it hired people to travel to those destinations.
