Santiago man endures 25 day erection

A Santiago man woke one morning with an erection and 25 days later it is still there.
Luis Rodrguez Taveras, 45, spent six days in hospital but ran away as the doctors threatened amputation to cure the problem. Apparently his penis was turning black and he was unable to urinate.
The prospect of losing his penis proved too much for Taveras who has taken refuge at home and asked his wife not to sign the consent papers for the operation. Her thoughts on his condition have not been made public but Rodrguez says he had not taken any sexual stimulants. However he confessed to being addicted to cocaine and wonders if that has any connection with his affliction.
Rodrguez Taveras has been under the care of urologist Milton lvarez Rosa whom he described as a good doctor and a very humane person. Despite this expression of confidence, Tavares, a father of six in two marriages, was unable to accept the ultimate sanction and sits in his pyjamas at home unsure of what to do, waiting and hoping for release from his condition.
