The sentence was handed down by judges Edgar Hernández Mejía, and Víctor José Castellanos who were confirmed by the National Council of the judiciary, as well as Hugo Alvarez Valencia who was out for 75 years.

These judges ordered the holding of a new trial, providing that the case will be known by one of four collegiate courts of the District National.

In the first instance Affe u000aGutierrez Gil, husband of Sarah Pepen Communicator, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but was overturned by the Court of appeal of the province Santo Domingo.
