Sign agreement to strengthen justice
posted on: Feb 7 2012 10:12 by RDugey. Viewed 16 times.The Constitutional Tribunal (TC) and the institutional foundation and justice (Finjus) signed yesterday an agreement posed to undertake initiatives for the strengthening of the Dominican constitutional justice.
Agreement was signed by the TC, Milton Ray Guevara, President and Vice-President of the Finjus, Servius Tullius Castaños Guzmán. Both entities said to have an interest in promoting educational activities, research and dissemination in society on the fundamental rights of the inhabitants and their constitutional guarantees.
Within the framework of the interinstitutional agreement, the TC and the Finjus shall promote the realization of observatories, consulting, conferences, programmes of training, improvement and update, research, lifting of data and useful information, to encourage the access of citizens to the constitutional justice.
On the other hand, Ray Guevara warned that they will not accept pressure from anybody and who as u000awants "to do so elsewhere, not in the TC".
"We no can be taking recursitos here in there." "Preference, nor privileges when it comes to know one of the cases, there will be no injustice, or privileges", emphasized.
CT President announced that in the coming hours will be announced decisions on two appeals of unconstitutionality, ahead of it's delicate issues, which require proper weighting.
"The tribunal has quorum and majority requirements that are qualified, not an absolute majority, but the majority, 9," stressed.
