Situation of Lake is inevitable

The Minister of the environment, Ernesto Reyna, said yesterday that so far the situation before environmentally Lake Enriquillo is inevitable, because due to the waters that have emerged in the place.

According to the official, there is a key to close the water that has been emerging in the Lake, and neither can be a channel to carry the water to the sea.

Reyna spoke in the delivery of 42 million dollars to institutions and foundations working in the conservation of biodiversity and natural resources in the border area of the country, as part of the natural resources sustainable management program in the border area (Promaren).

The official pointed out that the solution to the situation before is to lead people to better places, where they can develop properly and have a better quality of life.

"What you have to do, and the Government is doing, is protecting to the" u000acitizens who have been affected, that a time entered the waters belonging to the Lake (Enriquillo) ", said Reyna.

The Minister of the environment pointed out that it is a socio-economic problem that is being faced by the Government.

resources delivered by the Minister will be invested in the areas of the reserve of the biosphere Jaragua-Bahoruco-Enriquillo, covering the provinces of Barahona, Bahoruco, independence and flints. Is done with a contribution of the Federal Republic of Germany, ascending to 5.5 million euros.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister of the environment said that the work of these institutions that protect natural resources will make it possible to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of the border between Haiti and Dominican Republic.
