SJM expects a historic crop of beans

The Valley of San Juan de la Maguana is heading to get one of the best harvest of beans in recent years in terms of quality and performance, whose production is estimated at more than 350 thousand quintals, reported the Ministry of agriculture through a press release on the next harvest in the area.

The producers are pleased by the excellent development and flowering of the plantations, close to 150 thousand tasks, attributed to their efforts with technical and logistical support from the portfolio farming throughout the process of the harvest.

According to the Ministry of agriculture, planting of beans has created a great impact in the province, due to the investment of more than RD$ 700 million in the programme and expected greater dynamism of activities with the resources to generate the harvest, which begins in mid-January.

As every year, agriculture supported producers with the preparation of u000aland, facilities for the acquisition of certified seed, permanent technical assistance, efficient control of whitefly and other pests, which allows to improve the quality and performance of the production

Marketing
the Minister of agriculture, Salvador Jimenez, instructed to guarantee the marketing of the production of beans, reported the national director of production of the portfolio, José de Carmen Vicente, during a tour of observation by various plantations of legumes.

PLANTATIONS
