Spain and Dr agree to avoid double taxation

The process of negotiations culminating in the signing of the Convention lasted ten years, reaching the text agreed on in the year 2011. For the country, this will be the second agreement to avoid double international taxation. The first was signed with Canada in the year 1976.
Prior to his departure, Toribio stressed the importance of the signing of this Convention as an instrument for strengthening economic, trade and policies between the two countries to establish a framework of stability for investments for the country. The Pact will allow use schemes of incentives of the country, especially in tourism, where major investments are Spanish, because the u000aexemptions from the tax on income in RD will be recognized by the law of Spain, at the time of remittance of dividends.
