Spanish citizen busted for drugs at Punta Cana
posted on: Sep 2 2010 12:7 by Royston. Viewed 1110 times.A Spanish citizen was arrested at Punta Cana airport as he tried to travel to Madrid with nearly 8Kg of what were suspected to be drugs in his hand luggage.
Nelson Manuel Ledesma Vicente, a Dominican traveling under a Spanish passport, was apprehended at the X-Ray machines before boarding Iberworld flight 9802 bound for Madrid.
Vicente, who also had three cell phones in his possession, was taken into custody by Captain Enercido Familia Lebrn of the DNCD who took him to the National Drugs Control Agency's offices in Higuey.
According to the DNCD report, the 29 year old suspect, who lives in Villa Mella in Santo Domingo, had seven packets of a suspicious powder in his hand luggage. Results are awaited of tests to determine if the substance is cocaine or heroin.
