Chacon was received by the Ambassador of Spain in the Dominican Republic, Diego Mermejo and a general of the Dominican Armed Forces, Rosanna Pons Peguero, who serves as military aide to the minister.
It is understood that the Spanish official will meet with the Armed Forces Minister, Lieutenant General Rafael Pena Antonio and other military commanders.
The arrival of Chacon comes three days after the Dominican Attorney General, Radhames Jimenez traveled to Spain.
Although not stated officially, it is believed both trips are related to the case of the Spanish businessman Arturo del Tiempo Marques, under investigation for the 1,200 kilos of cocaine seized in Spain from the Dominican Republic.
Marquis owns Atiermar tower, located in the exclusive La Espererilla area, which was seized by the National District Attorney's office on 11 March.
