Spanish prosecutor in Atiemar Tower case arrives at Santo Domingo

Viewed 561 times.The Chief Prosecutor of Audiencia Nacional of Spain, Javier Zaragoza, said last night upon his arrival in the country, he is confident that the Dominican authorities will see the Atiemar case, involving the alleged drug lord Arturo del Tiempo Marqus, through to a conclusion.

Zaragoza came to the country from Madrid accompanied by the Dominican attorney, Radhames Jimenez, whom he met in Spain to finalize details about the case.
Tiempo Marqus, the millionaire owner of Atiemar tower in Santo Domingo, is imprisoned in Spain convicted for trafficking a haul of 1,200 kilos of cocaine from the Dominican Republic.
At the Las Americas airport in Santo Domingo, Zaragoza expressed confidence that the investigation of the case will eventually establish responsibilities and emphasized that he is working to that end.
Prosecutor Jimenez said that during his visit to Spain he met with the Spanish authorities to discuss the case of Arturo del Tiempo Marqus and added there is a close collaboration between both prosecutors and both institutions are exchanging information.
Zaragoza and Jimenez explained that the Spanish prosecutor came to talk at a conference on organized crime at the invitation of the Commissioner for Reform.
Zaragoza is considered an international expert in the fight against drug trafficking, in which he has spent over 20 years of his career as prosecutor. He has worked as a liaison with the European Judicial Network on issues related to organized crime, drug trafficking and money laundering.
