Spate of robberies in Sosua Abajo

All types of businesses have been targeted; butchers, car parts dealers, tire shops, hardware and furniture stores. All have been raided by the thieves, destroying in a single night, years of hard work and ambition.
The latest robbery in the district was the Orange phone concession within La Plaza hardware store. Thieves stole more than 50 thousand pesos in cash and more than 78 thousand pesos in cell phones, said the proprietor of the business. The thieves entered through the roof of the store and once inside used tools from the store to rob the orange kiosk.
According to previous reports thieves have got away with whole carcasses of cows, car engines, furniture, batteries and inverters from a long list of robberies.
The police are investigating.
