The tragedy occurred at 2:47 pm when the 27 year old man fell from the landing gear as the cargo plane took off from Las Americas Airport in Santo Domingo.
Doctors at the scene said he had died instantly from multiple fractures to the skull and limbs and his body was taken to the airport morgue.
The authorities have not offered an explanation as to how the victim managed to gain access to a restricted area in order to make his doomed attempt to flee the country.
The plane in which the young stowaway tried to travel is owned by Amerijet International. It had arrived from Port of Spain, Venezuela, and was heading to Miami, Florida. The aircraft was piloted by Felix Joseph Grosso.
A similar incident occurred in February 1999 at Las Americas airport and the stowaway on that plane died as well.
