The Government should subsidize with RD$ 1,292.93 billion electricity industry to keep unchanged the electricity tariff prices to users in February, announced the electricity Superintendence (SIE) through resolution signed by Juan Bautista Gomez, President of the Council of the institution.
The owner of the regulator of the electricity sector explained that the subsidy accrued under this heading for the first two months of this year is Rd $2,741.49 million.
Resolution 002/2012, released through the Department of public relations of the institution, further stipulates that the electricity to users during February tariff will not be increased.
