Success for the Sosua Kids Fun Fair!

Over RD$70,000 was raised, enough to put 47 underprivileged children in school next year and give them the chance of an education they would otherwise have been denied.

The rain stopped and the sun shone. The fair was attended by Domincans and Expats, adults and children alike, as well as two representatives from the Mayor’s Office. Santa was the most popular person with a line of children - and adults - waiting to sit on his knee. The colouring, cake decorating and throwing games also provided a lot of fun for the children. Anyone who bought anything left with a bargain and just about everyone had a huge smile on their face.
Sufficient thanks cannot be given to our original sponsors, without whom the Fun Fair could not have gone ahead, the team of fund raisers who gave unstintingly of their time in the preceding six weeks and the myriad of volunteers who turned out to help on the day. But the biggest Thank You goes to the people of Sosua who supported us with donations and in person.

Unclaimed photos of children with Santa, Angel’s prize for winning one of the colouring competitions and the auction item left by the successful bidder at Checkpoint bar can all be collected from the Book Nook in Beach Way Plaza.

Thank you everyone; we couldn’t have done it without you
