Support the relief work in Haiti

Dear Friends,

Many of us where shaken up last night by the earthquake that hit Haiti.  As we watched the tragedy unfold from the comfort of our homes, it was hard not to think about how close we are to this and how it could have been us.  We at The Mariposa DR Foundation believe that compassion without action is meaningless.  This morning we met with Haitian friends and leaders from the Cabarete and Montellano/Caraballo communities as well as communicated with the CEO of Batey Relief Alliance, Ulrick Gaillard.  All of these people have family members and friends that live near the epicenter and still have not been able to get ahold of them.

The best way to help at this moment is to make monetary donations to  any of the three organizations that we believe have the ability to make the most impact where it is needed as quickly as possible.  Below you will find information on  Yele Haiti, Partners In Health and Batey Relief Alliance and how to make a quick monetary donation.

I have just made a donation to all three and it took me less than five minutes.  If everyone that reads this could do the same we could really make an impact together.  For those interested in making cash donation please contact Jessica Lawson at jessica@mariposadrfoundation.org or at 829.578.0900.  The Mariposa DR Foundation will see that the funds go directly to earthquake relief.

Thank you for thinking of our neighbors in Haiti.  What a tragedy and we appreciate your support.

Sincerely,
Patricia Suriel, Executive Director
The Mariposa DR Foundation

Beware of donating to a "foundation" with no track record or who's Executive Director has been dismissed from other foundations. Only give to vetted and well known groups. There is a lot of fraud about.
