The two men Shirwan Safa Kadhum (30) and Bulent Aslanoglu (35) are accused of perpetrating one of the largest heists in Swedish history last year stealing a 30 million Kronor (approx US$4.2 million) from the G4S security firm in Stockholm on October 23 2009.
According to police, the gang used a Bell 206 JetRanger helicopter to abseil on to the roof of the building. The masked robbers carried AK-47 machine guns and were able to break into the companys vault, before escaping with the loot.
Swedish authorities tracked down the two ring-leaders to Sosua on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic where they had relocated to.
The two are in the custody of the DNCD. Sweden sent a plane to collect them.
Ten others have also been arrested in Sweden for suspected involvement in the robbery.
They are: Fabian Villalobos Lopez, Govar Barzani, Charbel Charro, Nemanja Ortodox Alic, the alleged helicopter pilot Alexander Eriksson, Metin Akdag, Goran Bojovic, Tomas Broman, Marcus Axelsson and Samir Abdel Kader.
Kadhum is also wanted for charges relating to a grave robbery in the National Museum in Stockholm in 2000.
