Swiss killed in Sosua by Haitian

The victim was identified as Samuel Ernest Butikofer, 64 years old, who lived in El Batey, Sosua, and worked locally.
His assailant was named by police as Franklin Bienvenido, aged 21, living in the Villa Ana Maria area, also in El Batey, Sosua.
National Police reported that Butikofer died of extensive wounds received on various parts of his head, according to the diagnosis of the medical examiner.
Officers of the law enforcement agency who immediately arrested Bienvenido, say that he acted out of revenge against the Swiss, who he maintains had a relationship with his wife. Reports suggest that both men had a relationship with the same woman.
Police said the woman, Martina Jose told investigating officers that Bienvenido demanded money from her for 3 days, warning that otherwise he would kill her, her daughter and Butikofer.
At the crime scene, police collected a "Trupper" branded sledgehammer completely covered in blood, khaki colored jeans, and a white shirt with blood stains was found in the back seat of a red Volkswagen car, plate number A184484 which was parked in the front of the residence where the incident occurred.
