Taxi drivers are trained to guide tourists

The training focused on cultural heritage and what places show foreigners that they dealt with their vehicles.
Graduation took place in the Sala Ramon Oviedo of the headquarters of the entity, in a ceremony at which present were Deputy Minister of training, the Ministry of tourism, Iris Perez Arias, Japanese chaplain, Director of Cultural Tourism of the MINC and coordinator of the training and Briseis Olivero, administrative coordinator of the tourism cluster of Santo Domingo.
Japanese chaplain expressed that "the MINC and tourism cluster are proud that for the first time is train the tourists in the cultural area, so now forward may contribute it to the preservation of cultural heritage, with a better image and attitude to engage in their" u000a"services". Olivero also said that "this strategic alliance we have done with the Ministry of culture, looking for each of the sectors involved in the development of tourism, are culturally trained, that they are aware of our identity, and thus be better hosts."

taxi driver Mamerto Cabrera Cruz, on behalf of his colleagues, thanked the Ministry of culture and the tourism cluster for allowing them to share such knowledge to each of the visitors of the city of Santo Domingo both domestic and foreign. After the delivery of the certificates of the course, graduates made a pledge of commitment, which promised to put into practice all the knowledge obtained in providing its services.
The aim of the workshop was to increase their cultural formation.
