The country imports 9,000 tonnes of cod

In the first nine months of this year Dominican Republic imported 9,000 tonnes of cod from Norway, and represents the second market of largest export to the European nation in quantity and consumption per person of the variety cod saithe.

This was stated by the director of the Council of products of the sea of Norway in Spain and Dominican Republic, Espen Hanson, who visited the country to participate in the gastronomic cod Norwegian Festival IX.

The country is placed just behind Brazil, which imports the largest amount of tonnes of saithe, and Jamaica which is the largest consumer per capita.
