The country needs to have a water law

The country needs to have the Congressional Act of water approval, a draft of which has seven to eight years pending in the House, since it guarantees the policies to be applied from what the director of the Corporation of the aqueduct and sewer of Santo Domingo, Freddy Perez, called a "Superintendencia de Agua".

The official stressed the importance of having such legislation and that the population understands that water is a service vital.

To participate as invited to meet LISTÍN DIARIO in globalization, the director of the Caasd, emphasized that the tool that is needed is the law, because the country has water in quantity and only has pending complete infrastructures.

Thereon, revealed that the Caasd produces 382 million gallons of water every day, but more than 50% is wasted and therefore it is important to produce 7 cubic meters above the current production, to then create u000apeople meter, but that culture is needed of water law. La Caasd was created in 1973 and today manages the service to 3.5 million inhabitants between the Distrito Nacional and Santo Domingo province, which has a structure which has remained small in some areas.
