The Egyptian Prosecutor seeks death penalty for former President Hosni Mubarak

The prosecution today called for the death penalty by hanging for the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak for his involvement in the deaths of demonstrators in the protests which ended with his resignation.

Request for the death penalty made by the public prosecutor's Office also includes the former Minister of Interior Habib the Adli and six of his aides, reported EfE said one of the lawyers for the prosecution, Ashraf Atwa.

During the session today of the trial, the Prosecutor's Office confirmed the direct responsibility of Mubarak and the Adli in the death of the protesters during the incidents that occurred during the revolution of January 25.

The public prosecutor's Office said Mubarak, as President during the protests, is responsible according to the Constitution and the law, he had greater powers and received reports, so it is impossible that not aware attacks and killings of demonstrators.
