The Pope appoints new Undersecretary of the Congregation of consecrated life

Pope Benedict XVI appointed today to the religious Nicoletta Vittoria Spezzati Undersecretary of the Congregation for the institutes of consecrated life, charge that will replace the Salesian nun Enrica Rosanna.
With this decision, Pope Benedict XVI continues the line of his predecessor, John Paul II, who in 2004 named Rossana, who became the first religious which reached a position as high in the Roman Curia.
Spezzati, of the order of the lures of the blood of Christ, will thus become the "number three" of a dicastery as important as that dealt with the internal affairs of orders religious.
Each congregation of the Holy See is presided over by a cardinal as a "second" a Bishop, that exercises the function of Secretary.
