The President delivered yesterday evening Funglode 2011 Awards

Viewed 15 times.President Leonel Fernandez last night led the sixth version of the Global democracy and development (Funglode) Foundation Awards which recognise each year the best literary and journalistic works produced in Dominican Republic, within which there are three series of research published by five journalism students who integrated internship program "Journalist for a year" in LISTÍN DIARIO, 2011.
Following the award ceremony, the director of the newspaper LISTÍN, Miguel Franjul, issued a message of congratulations and recognition to the winners.
Laura Peralta, John Edward Thomas, Katherine Luna and Andrea Luna, Indhira serum, were young trainees of this newspaper that received awards in the most important journalistic competition currently held in the country.
Laura Peralta was distinguished for his story on the Santo Domingo International Theatre Festival 6th series, u000aand according to the jury "managed to capture a relevant cultural event, in a manner suggestive and attractive, with an unusual breadth in the Dominican Journalism in a comprehensive and inclusive manner,".
John Edward Thomas, Andrea Luna and Katherine Luna received special mention by a series of written reports to three hands on the mentally ill who roam the city of Santo Domingo. For its part, recognized series of investigative reporting of Indhira serum on Dominican women dedicated to the cinema.
Were also recognized journalists Mariela Mejía and Lisania Batista, Diario Libre, and Leissy towers of the day, with the first prize, a mention, and the second prize, respectively. On behalf of his colleagues from the newspaper LISTÍN, John Edward Thomas, welcomed the opportunity they received young students for a professional job in this newspaper, where they were treated with respect and u000aaccount.
