The Senate approves the Cotonou Pact

The Senate yesterday approved the modifications that for the second time is made to the agreement of economic partnership between African States, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) and the European Community with its States members (Cotonou Agreement).
Modifications intended to the enlargement of the actors of the ACP-EU cooperation, to include ACP national parliaments, as well as ACP regional organisations and the African Union, higher levels of consistency between the joint institutions and institutions of the agreement of Association economic.
Also ensures higher levels of assistance in the fight against the which and give special attention to the needs of implementing the agreements of Association economic.
Senators also sanctioned at second reading the draft law which establishes the national system of agricultural research and forestry (SINIAF).
