The banana sector represents one of the bets for the export of goods such as the European markets. However, there is an obstacle that stands: the black sigatoka disease, which has led to a decrease of more than 30% of the production of bananas in the country, putting at risk the supremacy which has the country of export.

Producers are seeking alternatives to not succumb to the challenge to have.

Executive director of the Dominican Association of banana producers (Adobanano), maximum Jerez, knows that the situation becomes more complex. In his role as representative of the sector it has been reported to the authorities.

" this is a joint effort in which we work to ensure that the production of bananas will continue ''
